About Us

Who are we?

In 2017, two professionals embarked on a shared entrepreneurial venture – something that combined service and quality representing their professional talents. The mother-son duo recognized a need for measurable outcomes concerning diversity and inclusion efforts nation-wide, and thus created Fostering Healthy Solutions.

Research reveals that businesses struggle in the area of diversity inclusivity and major movements are on the rise to counter punch these actions. The harsh reality is, many people shun away from the hard conversation of racism, prejudice, injustice, inequality and bias. After years of brainstorming, researching, studying, and praying, FHS offers a solution. We are a person-centered, community-focused, evidence-based company with excellence in service driving our mission.

Our Vision

At FHS we cultivate healthy solutions to diversity issues through education, training, and execution.

Our Core Values

Our values embrace equality, honesty, integrity, diversity, relationship-centered, philanthropic, and innovative leadership.

“Continuous effort, not strength or intelligence, is the key to unlocking our potential.”

ETHICS & COMPLIANCE

Ethics policies establish general guidelines that company employees must follow to ensure conduct conforms to the highest ethical standards and are in accordance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations. All employees and directors or the company are required to read, understand, and comply fully to procedures established in the policy.

Strong ethics and compliance processes start with strong policies and procedures. Policies should be clear, concise, and practical. An ethics compliance policy is the foundation and heartbeat of your company’s program. A well-written policy requires time and must include several components. A well structured policy should also be consistent. Creating a template for standard use throughout policy development will ensure consistency. An example of a simple policy template should include:

FHS has a very simple opening statement in it’s compliance policy statement: “It is the intent of Fostering Healthy Solutions, LLC. (hereinafter, “FHS”) to uphold the integrity and ethical conduct of a participant in federal and state programs and other business arrangements.” This statement sets the tone for how we will conduct ourselves and our business from the beginning. Taking the time to identify what your company stands for and how you want to be represented will be worth the effort.

DIVERSITY & INCLUSION

Diversity is any factor that can be used to differentiate groups and people from one another. Empowering people by respecting and appreciating what makes them different encourages collaboration and breeds innovation. True diversity allows for the exploration of differences in a safe, positive, and nurturing environment.

Inclusion is an intentional, organizational effort and practices by which various groups or individuals having different backgrounds are culturally and socially accepted, welcomed, and equally treated. These differences could be self-evident, such as national origin, age, race and ethnicity, religion/belief, gender, marital status and socioeconomic status. They could be more inherent, such as educational background, training, sector experience, organizational tenure. Differences could also include personality, such as introverts and extroverts.

The work of diversity and inclusion engages each individual and makes people feel valued as being essential to the success of the organization. Evidence shows that when people feel valued, they function at full capacity and organizations consistently outperform their competition.
